Tesla Preparing to Enter Indonesia, How is the Performance of Indonesian Nickel Shares?
BUMNINC.Com | The electric vehicle industry is developing and is waiting for the right formula to attract Covid-19 pandemic consumers, resulting in a slowdown in the growth of the nickel industry in Indonesia.
Nevertheless, the nickel industry is considered to be an industry that will develop greatly in the future, due to the opportunities for advancement in the electric car industry in the country.
With the rapid development of electric cars, the nickel industry is getting a positive impact from this revolution in modern vehicles, because nickel is the main raw material for electric vehicle batteries. Indonesia is rich in nickel, which has sparked one of the world’s electric car giants, Tesla, to assess its factory investment in Indonesia.
Electric vehicle manufacturer from the United States (US), Tesla plans to build a battery factory in Indonesia which is likely to be located in Batang, Central Java.
Tesla assessed that Indonesia could become a center for electric vehicle manufacturing in Southeast Asia. Especially in making electric batteries, which are the main and most expensive components of electric cars.
The existence of a battery factory in Indonesia will certainly encourage the development of the nickel industry in Indonesia, considering that nickel is one of the main ingredients in the manufacture of electric car batteries.
This news is certainly a breath of fresh air for nickel company issuers on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). How is the performance of these issuers?
Data Analyst in the Lifepal.co.id research team Aldo Jonathan shares the results of his analysis of Tesla’s investment link with the nickel corporation in Indonesia.
In his research, he found that there are nickel selling companies whose share price movements are above the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) and the Mining Index (an index with a list of mining issuers).
However, on the other hand, there are also those whose performance is below the JCI and Mining Index. There are three nickel companies whose performance can beat Index Mining’s performance. They are PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk, and PT Pelat Timah Nusantara Tbk.
