PTPN III Records Post-Transformation Increase in Production of Plantation Commodities
BUMNINC.COM | Since the end of 2019, the holding company or plantation sector holding company, PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero), has continued to carry out corporate transformation through 18 strategic programs and six priority programs for quick wins to optimize production performance and company effectiveness.
The transformation was also carried out to face the challenges of the plantation industry BUMN in various aspects including portfolio management, operations, commercial, investment and funding, operating models, merit systems, culture, and capabilities.
PTPN III (Persero) Corporate Secretary Holding Imelda Alini Pohan said the transformation carried out since 2019 has started to show achievements, including in terms of improving performance in 2020 from operations and finance compared to 2019, where there has been an increase in the production of key commodities.
The increase in production occurred in CPO by 1.74 percent; rubber production increased by 6.94 percent; and tea production increased by 10.38 percent, compared to the same period in 2019.
“Holding Perkebunan Nusantara PTPN III is committed to continuing to carry out a transformation program and standardizing the performance of all subsidiaries with the main objective of improving governance to improve the company’s operational and financial conditions so that it is equal to best practice,” Imelda said in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday ( 12/11/2020).
Apart from the production side, the company’s financial performance also increased with the achievement of total debt which decreased by 0.36 percent, and an increase in sales of 0.48 percent compared to the same period in 2019.
PTPN Group also obtained other achievements including playing a role in the development of the Indonesian economy through the development of the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone, innovating in the plantation business to increase production and productivity, and increasing added value so that it can spur increased competitiveness.
In the marketing sector, PTPN Group can optimize sales prices in 2020 and succeed in selling main commodities with an average price increasing compared to the average selling price in 2019.
